Atom Janjughazyan attached importance to the active involvement of the EU in the process of reforms of the Armenian Government

On February 19, the RA Minister of Finance Atom Janjughazyan received the Head of the European Union Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador H.E. Mrs. Andrea Wiktorin.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to cooperation with the EU, including the progress of EU-supported programs in Armenia and prospects for further cooperation.

The RA Minister of Finance Atom Janjughazyan attached importance to the active involvement of the EU in the process of reforms of the Armenian Government, in particular the support provided through various tools. Referring to the current reforms of public finance management, the Minister stressed the importance of the EU's experience in this field and the need to share it with the Armenian side. Speaking about the EU-implemented projects and emphasizing their effective implementation, the Minister in particular noted that the ideas and the outcome of the programs are of primary importance.

The EU Ambassador expressed readiness to continue EU support for reforms in Armenia. At the same time, she highly appreciated the significant progress made within the framework of the RA Public Finance Management System Strategy, in particular the adoption of 2019-2023 reforms strategy of Public Finance Management System (PFMS) by the RA Government.

The parties also attached importance to the conference organized for donor organizations in January 2020 aimed at discussing the PFMS Strategy and expressed willingness to continue active collaboration in all areas of current bilateral cooperation.a
