Discussions on Amending Double Taxation Agreement

On November 13, discussions on making amendments to the Convention between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Swiss Confederation for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with Respect to Taxes on Income and on Capital have launched at the RA Ministry of Finance. The discussions are headed by Acting Deputy Finance Minister Arman Poghosyan. Representatives from the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the RA State Revenue Committee are also participating in the discussions.

Acting Deputy Minister attached importance to the initiative to improve the tax agreement and noted that it will enable to give positive impetus to the investors and business environment representatives.

Pascal Duss, Head Unit of State Secretariat for International Financial Issues of the Swiss Confederation, stressed the importance of such discussions and expressed hope that the current cooperation will be expanded within the framework of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

The Convention between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Swiss Confederation for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with Respect to Taxes on Income and on Capital has entered into force since November 7, 2007.
