The Borrowing Plan for 2019 was Presented

The borrowing plan for 2019 was presented at the RA Ministry of Finance. Acting Minister of Finance Atom Janjughazyan, representatives from the RA Central Bank, European Union Delegation to Armenia, as well as from international financial organizations and the Ministry staff, primary market agents and other participants of the state treasury bonds market were present at the event.

Acting Finance Minister Atom Janjughazyan noted that the year's plan had succeeded and assured that next year's plans would also succeed.

“The financial market should not only be stable, but also steadily developing and should best serve the country's economic development. High level of predictability and confidence are the most important prerequisites for having a solid financial market,”, - said Atom Janjughazyan.

Within the framework of the “2019 Borrowing Plan” report, the funding sources of the 2019 state budget deficit, the budget deficit financing toolset from internal sources, new releases planned for 2019, as well as envisaged operations with state treasury bonds, the forecast of the structure of government treasury bonds as of  December 31, 2019, were presented. It was also touched upon foreign credit operations, the structure of new borrowings and the government debt repayment schedule.

According to the presented data, as of December 31, 2017, the Armenian government's net debt amounted to AMD 2,988.0 billion; as of December 31, 2018, it is projected to be AMD 3,137.0 billion; and as of December 31, 2017 – AMD 3,364.0 billion.
