Armenak Shekoyan (1902-1979) conducted economic and party activities in different bodies in 1931-1937. In 1937-1938, he was appointed as the Chairman of the USSR State Planning Committee. In 1938-1940, he was the permanent representative of the ASSR to Moscow. From September 1940 to August 1952 and from April 1959 to June 1969, Shekoyan was the ASSR People’s Commissar – Minister of Finance. In 1952-1954, he was the ASSR Deputy Minister of Finance, in 1954-1959 – the Deputy Chairman of the ASSR Ministers Council. In 1969, Shekoyan was appointed as the Adviser to the ASSR Ministers Council.
