On July 31, the RA Minister of Finance Atom Janjughazyan received Frans Weekers, Executive Director for Armenia at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
Atom Janjughazyan, welcoming the guests, noted that there are opportunities to deepen the existing cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
Frans Weekers also attached importance to the collaboration with Armenia and informed that the Bank is mostly cooperating with the private sector and is ready to contribute to the expansion of the public-private partnership. The EBRD representative welcomed the process of tax reforms in Armenia.
During the meeting the parties discussed cooperation development issues and touched upon sectoral reforms of the Ministry, in particular, the fiscal policy stabilizing the debt in Armenia. The Minister noted that Armenia will switch to program budgeting in 2019, as it will enable to more accurately estimate the effectiveness of expenditures.
