Atom Janjughazyan Took Part in the Celebration of the German Unity Day

The RA Minister of Finance Atom Janjughazyan participated in the celebration of the German Unity Day. This year the German Embassy celebrated the holiday with an official reception and the opening of an exhibition entitled “Who we are” by German famous artist Herbert Meyer, which will be shown at the National Gallery of Armenia till December 3.

Atom Janjughazyan congratulated on the Day of German Unity, noting that the Armenian-German relations dynamically develop in the political, economic, inter-parliamentary, scientific-educational, cultural and territorial governance spheres.

“With its democratic system of values, with the degree of political, economic and social development, Germany is an exemplary model of state building and trustworthy partner for a number of countries, including Armenia”, - said the Minister.

The Minister added that during the past years of Armenia's independence, together with its German colleagues, Armenia managed to establish effective cooperation in almost all areas of mutual interest.

Speaking on the event which took place 28 years ago, Matthias Kiesler, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Armenia, said that today's Germany faces new challenges in terms of unity and solidarity. The Ambassador highlighted the peculiarity of 2018, which was conditioned by the Federal Chancellor Merkel’s visit to Armenia for the first time in history.

 “We want to support the new Government on the way to modernization and reforms. At present, we are working together to supplement this support with additional projects and programs. In the last 12 months, much has been done in our bilateral relations, especially in the area of culture and education”, - said Matthias Kiesler.
