Budgetary Debates continued at the NA Standing Committees

On November 7, at the joint sittings of the RA NA Standing Committees on Healthcare and Social Affairs and on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs, as well as on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environment, and on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs of the RA National Assembly, the discussions of the RA Draft Law “On the State Budget of the Republic of Armenia for 2019” continued.

Acting Finance Minister Atom Janjughazyan presented a summary description of the 2019 budget draft by sectors.

The Acting Minister of Finance noted that the state budget draft for 2019 envisages allocation of AMD 444.3 billion for the sphere of social security, which exceeds last year's index by AMD 35.6 billion. AMD 91.7 billion will be allocated to Armenia's health sector: it is more than the figure for 2018 by AMD 8.6 billion.

According to Atom Janjughazyan, the 2019 draft budget was drafted in accordance with the current regulations and, if necessary, can be revised, as structural changes in the system of public administration are in process.

AMD 17.3 billion is envisaged for agricultural projects, of which AMD 5.8 billion - through external assistance programs. AMD 6.7 billion is envisaged for environmental protection, with AMD 1.7 billion worth of external assistance.

The debates of the RA Draft Law “On the State Budget of the Republic of Armenia for 2019” will be summed up at the Standing Committees; written proposals on the draft of the NA deputies and factions will submitted to the RA NA Staff.
