On July 16, the RA Minister of Finance Atom Janjughazyan received the delegation led by Deborah L. Wetzel, the World Bank Senior Director for Governance Global Practice.
In the course of the meeting the current programmes and the directions of continuous cooperation in the field of public finance management with the World Bank were discussed.
Atom Janjughazyan highly appreciated the cooperation with the WB in the sphere of public finance management and highlighted the prospects of its expansion.
Touching upon the reforms in the sphere, Minister Janjughazyan noted that currently the digitalization process is a priority for the Government of Armenia, which will contribute to the transparency of country’s activities, reduction of corruption risks, access to public services provided by the state bodies and so on.
According to Deborah L. Wetzel, the WB is ready to support public finance management reforms by sharing experience and in other possible formats.
The parties also discussed the strategy of public finance management, as well as other issues related to the modernization of the public administration system.
