The RA Minister of Finance Atom Janjughazyan received the delegation headed by Martin Grote, senior economist on tax policy of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
During the meeting the parties discussed a number of issues related to tax policy and administration improvement, in particular, on property tax, income tax, profit tax, as well as on administrative capabilities and tax privileges.
Atom Janjughazyan noted that, in line with the tax policy reforms, it is necessary to diagnose the overall system and solve the existing problems by applying fair and effective redistribution principles.
Martin Grote, in his turn, noted that ensuring fairness and equity in the rebalancing processes of the tax field is important. He also touched upon the simplification of the system, which will allow to reduce opportunities for avoiding tax liabilities.
Minister Janjughazyan highly appreciated the cooperation with the IMF and expressed confidence that it would promote the development of the Armenian economy and implementation of effective fiscal policy.
