On July 6, the RA Minister of Finance Atom Janjughazyan received Richard Mills, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of Armenia.
During the meeting, the parties touched upon the issues related to the reforms agenda of the country, the changes in the tax and pension spheres, the investment environment, as well as the fiscal framework and public finance management.
Atom Janjughazyan noted that the fiscal situation is quite stable. “In previous years, we managed to establish a system that depends not on individuals, but on institutions and procedures. From this point of view, digitalization is also important, which is always on our agenda”. Minister Janjughazyan highly appreciated the cooperation with the United States and attached importance to the prospects of its expansion.
Ambassador Mills, in his turn, noted: “Financial policy is important for sustainable economic growth and sound social policies. The U.S. Government has a long history of working with the Ministry on financial sector reform, and I have every expectation that our cooperation will continue and we will find ways to support the new Government’s priorities”.
