On April 10, a seminar on the Functions of Governing Bodies during Major Disasters took place at the RA Ministry of Finance. The seminar was held by the relevant specialists of the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations, headed by Colonel Artur Muradyan, Head of the Department for Protection of Population and Reduction of Disaster Consequences of the Rescue Service of the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The objective of the seminar was to inform the RA Ministry of Finance employees about protection measures, response planning, manifestation of right behaviour and, in particular, the functions of the Ministry of Finance as a governing body during emergency situations.
The participants were also presented general information about natural and man-made hazards inherent to Armenia, their preconditions and stages, impacts, as well as prevention, risk reduction and protection.
The RA MES specialists attached great importance to the training of the Ministry employees in the field of emergency behaviour and to the team management by the senior staff. To this end, it is necessary to regularly organize and implement evacuation and shelter-in-place exercises, as well as employees' stress-resistance and mental health development trainings.
