The annual meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund were held on October 8-14, 2018, in Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia.The RA Deputy Minister of Finance Armen Hayrapetyan also participated in the meetings. Armen Hayrapetyan is the Alternate Governor of the Republic of Armenia at the IMF and WB Board of Governors.
During the visit, meetings were held with the representatives of the IMF Dutch-Belgian and the WB Dutch Constituency Group countries. The RA Deputy Minister of Finance had a number of bilateral meetings with representatives of international investment banks and financial institutions as well as international rating agencies.
Within the framework of these meetings, the WB and IMF plenary sessions were held, where the activities and the registered results of the last year's meetings of the IMF and WB Group were discussed and summed up; the directions of further cooperation were outlined.
The WB's new initiative, “Human Capital Index”, and the summit dedicated to it were among the most significant events of the 2018 WB Group and IMF Annual Meetings. Roundtable discussions on human capital development also took place, during which representatives of the participating countries presented their policies on human capital development and exchanged views on issues related to further cooperation within the framework of the initiative.
