Today, on November 20, the RA Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan, received the delegation led by Kazuhiko Koguchi, Secretary-General of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Stefania Galbiati Ball, Head of the EBRD Annual Meeting, Protocol and Event Organization Department and Language Services, and George Akhalkatsi, Head of the EBRD Yerevan Permanent Office, were also present at the meeting.
Minister Hovhannisyan, welcoming the guests, emphasized the key importance of cooperation with the EBRD for Armenia, which is evidenced by the readiness of the Armenian side to host the 2024 annual meeting of the EBRD Board of Governors in Yerevan, which is unprecedented in the context of hosting such an event in the financial sector in Armenia.
Emphasizing the role of the EBRD mission in organizing the next annual meeting, the minister highlighted that the relevant teams are working on several dimensions to properly organize the event. In turn, the EBRD Secretary-General emphasized the dynamics of the current large-scale work, reaffirming the commitment of the EBRD team to continue the effective partnership with the Armenian side for the successful holding of the annual meeting.
At the end of the meeting, there was a willingness on both sides to join efforts to hold the EBRD annual meeting in Yerevan in a memorable and proper manner.
