The RA Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan received the delegation led by (ADB) President Masatsugu Asakawa. ADB Central and Western Asia Department Director Eugene Zhukov, ADB Executive Director Made Wijaya, ADB representatives were also part of the delegation.
Welcoming the president of ADB and expressing satisfaction with the high level of bilateral cooperation, Minister Hovhannisyan emphasized that especially in recent years, the cooperation between ADB and Armenia has become quite intense, as evidenced by the full cooperation agenda.
The ADB president also highly appreciated the effective cooperation with the Armenian side, stressing that ADB is interested in expanding the scope of cooperation with Armenia and is ready to continue the dialogue in the direction of new cooperation prospects.
Masatsugu Asakawa emphasized that ADB places importance on the current budget support program for Fiscal Stability and Development of Financial Markets. Considering its ongoing nature with several stages, he highlighted that the bank is prepared to engage in discussions regarding the financial aspects of the program, the expansion of funds, and the scope of reforms to be implemented under it.
Vahe Hovhannisyan also emphasized the continuous support of ADB to capacity building, noting that it is quite useful from the point of view of increasing the professional qualities of the specialists and employees of the Armenian side involved in the implementation of various programs.
