The RA Minister of Finance Vardan Aramyan received Anthony De Lannoy, the IMF Executive Director of Dutch-Belgian Sub-Group.
In the course of the meeting the Minister highly appreciated the long-term fruitful cooperation with the IMF, emphasizing the role of the latter in the various reforms implemented in Armenia. In particular, it was highlighted the technical assistance provided during the previous year regarding fiscal rules review and tax policy reforms.
The Minister also attached importance to the effective implementation of the IMF three-year program “Extended Funding Facility” (2014-2017), particularly in terms of reforms in the spheres of competitiveness, monetary policy, tax and so on. An arrangement was reached to continue discussions on the new IMF project.
Minister Aramyan expressed readiness to continue the efforts to further deepen the cooperation with the Fund, confident that it will promote the efficiency of the economy of the Republic of Armenia and the effective fiscal policy implementation.
